Understanding Your Bill

Billing Frequency

Westario Power residential  customers invoiced monthly. However, if you have recently initiated a new contract with Westario Power, your first bill could take up to a 30 day period before the bill is received. Your final bill could also take up to 10 days before the bill is received.

Exclusionary Clause

The utility will make every effort to ensure bills are accurate; however, billing errors can occur. The utility reserves the right to collect under billed amounts at any time.

Methods of Payment

For your convenience, the following payment options of choice are available:

  • Pre-Authorized Payment – Our most convenient payment method. With your permission, banks will deduct the payment directly on the due date of your bills.
  • Equal Payment Plan – Only available to Residential customers however not available to those customers who elect to contract with electricity retailers (further information on this program can be found below).
  • At any Bank, Trust Company or Credit Union within Canada – all banks will accept payments before the due date at the ATM machine or teller. Make sure you tear off the top portion of your bill to accompany the payment, otherwise the bank will not accept payment.
  • Via the Internet/Telephone – all banks will accept payments using the account # at top right hand corner of your bill (For example: 54321-001 or 1000123).
  • By Post – Canada Post will deliver your payment and bill stub.
  • At our Office (24 Eastridge Road, Walkerton, ON)
    • Debit only terminal
    • 24 hour drop box – cheques only; no cash

Equalized Payment Plan

As seasons change throughout Midwestern Ontario, typically your electricity bill has its ups and downs as well. Westario Power’s Equal Payment Plan evens out your monthly peaks and valleys so you make the same payment every month – making it easier on your budget.

Here is how it works…an average payment is calculated based on your past 12 months of electricity use. That average becomes your new monthly payment. You will still be aware of exactly how much electricity you use because your regular monthly bill will show your actual usage and your Equal Payment amount.

To enroll in an Equalized Payment Plan, please submit your completed Pre-Authorized Payment form and contact our Customer Service Department at 519-507-6937 or toll free 1-866-978-2746 for your monthly amount.

Pay Your Bills By Credit Card

Westario Power now offers customers two fast and efficient methods to make bill payments by credit card – online or telephone

Online Credit Card Payments

Paymentus is an online, fast and secure Instant Payment Network. Access this option by clicking on the Pay Now button below.

Pay Now

  • You will need to enter your payment information, including the account number, credit card information and payment amount
  • Paymentus charges a fee to use their service. You will be asked to confirm that you’ve agreed to pay a convenience fee of 1.75%
  • When you have entered your information, click on “Make Payment”
  • A confirmation number will be provided if the transaction was successful

For peace of mind, you can setup recurring payments using your credit card.

Telephone Payment

If you would like to use your credit card to pay by telephone, please call Toll-Free at 1-866-392-1995. You will be linked to a secure, automated telephone payment system, provided by Paymentus.

  • Enter your payment information, including the account number, credit card information and payment amount
  • You will be asked to confirm that you’ve agreed to pay a convenience fee of 1.75%
  • A confirmation number will be provided if the transaction was successful

Commonly Asked Questions

How will my payment be confirmed? Payments by web or telephone will be known to Westario instantly. If you have any questions, feel free to call our Customer Service Department at 1-866-978-2746.

Why is a convenience fee required? The fee covers payment handling and processing charges. Westario Power does NOT receive any part of the service fee. Paymentus is an independent company providing a service for Westario Power customers.

What is the cost of a convenience fee? A service fee of 1.75% will be charged by Paymentus for customers paying by credit card. The service fee is associated with the credit card payment service and is not set or retained by Westario Power.
